Prelude: The Veil and the Stone

They say the spirals were born of two mothers.
Solmyrra, the Weaver of Light, who sang harmony into the void and birthed worlds radiant with her song.
And Veythara, the Unshaped, who cast raw matter into the dark—fractured, brutal, alive with hunger.
From Solmyrra’s hand came the Way of the Veil—Veyra’len Sylorin—a creed that power flows in all directions, binding many voices into one song.
From Veythara’s chaos rose Zor’veth, whispering the Doctrine of Stone—Kael’thuur Veynak—that power must fall downward, crushing all beneath its weight.
Virelliun was both Solmyrra’s gift and Veythara’s scar: a jewel draped in forest and ocean, yet bound to flesh and pain.
Here, birth was not the radiant genesis of Lumae’thir, but a trial of blood and bone—fragile bodies breaking to bring forth life.
For a thousand revolutions, Solmyrran envoys walked among them, healing with light, teaching the arts of song, herb, and crystal.
But shadows moved too.
Zor’veth forged false sons—men shaped in the likeness of Virelliun’s own, seeded with the Doctrine of Stone.
They spoke as brothers, but their thoughts ran cold.
War followed.
Rivers ran like iron; the skies dimmed with ash.
It was Aeryn Kaeloris of Solmyrra who came with her Harmon Guard to still the blood tide, weaving the Veil’s creed into fragile balance.
Yet the false sons’ origin remained hidden, their essence indistinguishable, their discord merely sleeping.
And so the spirals held, but the wound endured.
Even in peace, the daughters of Virelliun still bore life in pain, their voices strained in chambers meant for song.
Until one child, born beneath the twin suns of the Bloom, asked the question none had dared:
“Why must it be this way?”
